  The pack process of the 18650 lithium battery is mainly formulated according to the structure of the PACK battery. Most of the packaging processes of 18650 lithium batteries have similar characteristics, and they are all in multiple strings. The 18650 lithium battery PACK process has distinctive features. The biggest feature is flexible combination, and most of the continuous orders can be completed through semi-automation. It is conceivable that the 18650 lithium battery pack process is becoming more and more streamlined.

Generally, the 18650 lithium battery pack includes: 18650 battery, battery protection board, connecting nickel plate, lead-nickel plate, green paper accessories, insulating paper, wire or plug-in wire. PVC outer packaging or shell, output (including connector), key switch, power indicator light, EVA, barley paper, plastic bracket and other auxiliary materials are used to form the packaging. Most types of 18650 battery packs are suitable for this process.


  Design technical skills of multi-parallel and multi-series 18650 lithium battery pack


  1. Adopt the principle of easy operation, that is, it is easy for employees to operate.


  2. Adopt the principle of operating safety first, that is, employees are not easy to short-circuit or have better preventive measures during operation.


  3. The principle of using equipment, that is, try not to use manpower, at least semi-automatically use auxiliary equipment to complete the work.


  4. The packaging design should be reasonable, easy to pick and place, and the product should not be handed over to the customer for half a day.


  Quality characteristics of 18650 lithium battery packaging process


  1. A qualified lithium battery should be used. Qualified and stable suppliers should provide single batteries with good performance. Single cells should be used after passing a series of safety tests and performance tests.


  2. The battery requires low internal resistance and good consistency. Whether it is a 14.8V lithium battery pack or other energy storage battery packs, it is necessary to ensure low internal resistance to ensure the capacity, platform and heat dissipation of high-current discharge.


  3. The battery structure adopts ventilation design, and the distance between two adjacent batteries is not less than 2mm. This construction requires a plastic bracket to hold the battery.


  4. The battery pack factory uses spot welding slotted nickel plates. The size of the nickel plate meets the requirements of high current discharge. The material of the nickel plate ensures low internal resistance. The spot welding machine ensures stable operation and the welding pins ensure the quality. Operators have been trained and qualified before taking up the job, spot welding, and finally check whether the solder joints are firm. In addition, each batch of products should be tested for vibration resistance.


  5. Make different batches of batteries into typical finished products and conduct life tests. When summarizing the experience of lithium battery pack design specifications, the actual cycle life is obtained through cycle tests.


  6. Verify the high and low temperature performance of the battery. The batteries of different PACK lithium battery manufacturers are made into finished products, and the discharge tests of different rates are carried out at high and low temperatures to obtain the actual discharge curve.
